From Sunshine Daily Coast (5 May 2010)
NAMBOUR Showgrounds played host to the Sunshine Coast Show Jumping Clubs May Spectacular over the weekend.
More than 250 horses competed in the competition with riders from Sydney, New Zealand and all over Queensland flocking to the Coast.
The highlight was Sundays 1.4metre A-grade class with Sunshine Coast World Cup riders blitzing the field.
Cooroys Billy Raymont won the division in the scorching time of 51.87secs.
Raymont was riding the New Zealand horse Cortaflex Levitation, which only arrived in Australia last week.
Raymonts fellow Cooroy rider Tim Amitrano finished second on board his Olympic mount Mr Innocent.
Close behind in third in just over 55secs was Travestons Brett Warren, who was riding Cheezy Z.
Riders and horses are now off to Sydney to compete in the first round of the 2010 Australian World Cup.
Raymont won the competition in 2004 and is on track to win another title. |
