from Fairfield Champion (dated 05May)
NEW Zealand Olympian and World champion eventing rider Vaughn Jefferis will guest judge this Friday as part of the Sydney weekend of Equestrian World Cups.
Held at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre at Horsley Park, Jefferis who was individual and team world champion in the 1990s will judge the Young Event Horse classes.
The Olympic sport of Eventing (also known as Horse Trials) is the equestrian triathlon where the three phases of dressage, cross country and show jumping are completed by the same horse/rider combination.
Eventing is a discipline at which Australia has excelled with numerous Olympic Medals.
It is also one of the few sports where men and women compete on equal terms and the genuine amateur can compete against a World or Olympic champion.
