VETERAN New Zealand eventer Mark Todd moved into pole position on day one of the Bramham International Horse Trials near Wetherby.
The 54-year-old, individual Olympic champion in both 1984 and 1988, guided NZB Regent Lad to a strong dressage score of 41.3 to lead overnight.
British riders Laura Collett (Rayef) and Emily Baldwin (Drivetime) held second and third spots respectively, while reigning Badminton champion Paul Tapner (Kilfinnie II) was eighth, one place above Oliver Townend and Imperial Master.
