Veteran Kiwi equestrian Mark Todd says he is fitter than ever heading into the upcoming World Equestrian Games.

Veteran Kiwi equestrian Mark Todd thinks he's fitter than he's ever been heading into the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky.

Todd's in training for the New York Marathon in November and says he's out of his comfort zone.

He says he's doing it for the CatWalk Trust charity so it's a big thing for him because it's a long time since he's done any running.

Todd will ride Grass Valley at the Games and says his main target is helping New Zealand win a medal in the team's event that starts next Friday.
