Blyth Tait is expected to have this first start on new horse Santos at the Withington Manor Horse Trials near Cheltenham later this month.
Tait has a three-quarter share in Santos, a 12-year-old bay thoroughbred gelding, successfully campaigned in New Zealand in recent seasons by Jenna Mahoney, who has kept a quarter share in the horse.
Withington Manor organisers have been inundated with 811 entries, forcing the balloting of 237. "In addition a 43 percent increase in advanced entries has forced the OI** dressage to be held on Saturday," organisers said.
The event is on Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 May 2011, and organisers promise that every two minutes a horse and rider "will attempt to tackle the challenging fences on the cross country courses - including jumping through hedges, over stone walls and through water for a dramatic display of control and skill."
Classes run start at Novice and go up to advanced, with the same dressage test as Houghton Hall CIC3*.
Kiwi riders Andrew Nicholson (3), Johnathan Paget (4), Lizzie Brown (2), and Lucy Jackson (2) - are stuck on the ballot list, but may get a start if other entries pull out.
Despite that, Nicholson has six confirmed starters across the grades and Jackson has four other rides.
