Mark Todd's Badminton win has been a huge boost for Cambridge rider Katie McVean, who will compete in the prestigious FEI World Cup showjumping final in Germany this week.
Speaking from Leipzig in Germany this morning, McVean's father Jeff said his daughter would take a lot of confidence from Todd's win at Badminton.
''There is no doubt that Kiwi success rubs off there is no greater motivation,'' he said.
McVean will ride nine-year-old mare Dunstan Delphi in the Rolex FEI World Cup final in a three-day indoor grand prix in Leipzig, starting on Thursday night (NZ time).
The grand prix is her biggest event yet, having qualified last October by winning the New Zealand points series.
''The indoor setting is very different but Dunstan Delphi has adapted well and is showing great promise,'' McVean said.
His daughter finished fourth in a jumpoff at her final lead-up event in the Netherlands three weeks ago after two clear rounds.
